WHO ARE WE? We are a community based, non-profit, incorporated organisation that is managed by a Board of local residents. We have charitable and benevolent status. Under the Rules of the Association the Board must meet at least six times each twelve months. Cost of membership is $5 per year. Our funding is primarily from the NSW Department of Community Services and is supplemented by various small grants which may become available for specific programs eg Gosford Council's Community Grants program. The building, previously known as Kincumber Multipurpose Centre, was built by Gosford City Council who still retain ownership. The Neighbourhood Centre has occupancy and agrees to manage the building. The Neighbourhood Centre hires out the building to Community Groups, individuals and For Profit groups. There are different hiring rates for each of these categories. Any surplus money from the hiring, after deducting all expenses and provisions, is allowed to be used for Neighbourhood Centre programs - There are three rooms for hiring. There are also (3) offices, apart from the Managers, these are the counselling room, an office permanently hired to Aunties and Uncles, and the Seniors Computer Club Training room. Currently June Galea, the Executive Officer, is the only paid staff. The centre heavily relies on our wonderful volunteers.
